Tugizov Sharof Mavlonovich
Born on March 25, 1959 in Urgutsky district, Samarkand region, Uzbekistan.
In 1981 he graduated from the Samarkand Agricultural Institute with a degree in veterinary medicine (Samarkand, Uzbekistan).
In 1985, he completed a postgraduate course at the All-Union Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine with a degree in virology and received a Ph.D. in biological sciences (Moscow, Russia)
In 1996 he defended his doctoral thesis in virology and biotechnology at the Institute of Virology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (Moscow, Russia) and received a doctorate in biological sciences.
Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco. Engaged in scientific and educational work in the field of virology, molecular biology, gene and cell engineering.
For over 20 years she has been leading research laboratories and projects on virology, biotechnology of genetic engineering in the USA. He participated in international projects on global problems of the spread of viral epidemics, including acquired human immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and viral hepatitis, in the United States, Russia, Uzbekistan and Indonesia. He prepared a project on the organization of the Uzbek Biotechnology Center. Also prepared an analytical monograph on the reform of science and technology in Uzbekistan.
